Philippine Heroes: Andres Bonifacio

This is a summary, an opinionated idea, and as well an understandable and simplified reason as to Andres Bonifacio was a Hero during the Rebellion against the Spaniards near the end of the 19th Century.

Most countries or nations have national heroes that bring prestige and honor based on the principles of freedom, camaraderie, independence, and the enjoyment of the citizens being free of the strings of the Spanish government in Madrid. It is as much as well the purpose aims to set free most of the people from oppression of the Spanish colonial government that makes the typical Indio suffer a lot.

The Philippines, like any other nations have national heroes. It range from the famous heroes with the likes of Rizal, Aguinaldo, Del Pilar, Luna, among others. In this case, I chose Andres Bonifacio. I admire him in his way as a fighter and as well as the leader of the renowned revolutionary group which they hardly fought the Spaniards all in the name of Independencia. In his role as a leader, he was the founder and then the Supremo of the Kataas-taasan, Kagalang-galangang Katipunan (KKK) which aims to set free the Filipino people until the very death. He was best friends with Emilio Jacinto and leads the fight from Cavite to Pampanga, where the battle was fierce and both sides suffer heavy losses. Thus, they eventually formed the republic together with Emilio Aguinaldo who later becomes its first president, after Bonifacio died. Furthermore, his bravery is indeed worth the sacrifice considering the very fact that he is willing to lead the troops and to die for the purpose, which is to make our lives free from oppression, to have freedom to express, to live the way we want, and even to enjoy our lives today. All of us are proud of these national heroes and that is already patriotic in a sense that we love this country they fought for.

Because of this, I can say that Bonifacio is my favorite hero. He fought the country with gallantry, bravery, and the love of country and its citizens. He as well make the greatest of contributions to ensure this country's independence that many will benefit. Without him, we as a nation will not exist.
